Dating is an adventure, but coming up with date ideas depending on the weather, your interests and how much cash you have on hand is difficult, so planning a lovely evening of pizza and binge-watching your favorite Netflix shows together is a go-to date night for many couples.

If you're looking to add some spice to your date nights, here are 14 creative dates that don't cost a fortune:

1. Practice your photography skills

How fun does it sound to hop in the car and drive until you find a beautiful place to take pictures? You don't have to be a professional photographer, and it's a great way to spend time exploring places you've never been. Plus, you can get to know your date's taste in music while you're traveling, and that's vital knowledge if you ask me.

2. Have a bake-off

This is a date you can also do with other couples. You'll be able to test your own and your partner's baking skills while also getting to eat delicious food after. Add a twist by having one person wear a blindfold while their partner gives them instructions for a hilarious time.

3. Go to a farmer's market or a street fair

Walking around a farmer's market or exploring street fairs were some of my favorite dates. It's so much fun to see all the different booths and the quality time you spend together in a new, exciting environment definitely worth it. You can also compete to see who can sample the most food, or try the most activities.

4. Ride a tandem bike

Riding a bike with your date is enjoyable, but you can kick things up a notch by riding a tandem bike together. Surprise your date by biking to various locations to have a picnic, play games, explore nature or grab some ice cream.

5. Have an outdoor movie night

Before your date, find out what your sweetheart's favorite movie is. You can project the movie onto your garage door or hang a sheet in your backyard to watch the movie outside. It'll make for a memorable, romantic date.

6. Sign up for a mud run

It might sound crazy, but it makes for a great time! It's a unique way to get to know your date, and finishing the race will give you both a sense of accomplishment. If you can get through a mud run together, you can get through anything!

7. Tour your city

Acting like a tourist in your own city makes for a creative, inexpensive date. You can discover and experience every inch of your city with your date. This is a great way for your date to get a feel for your environment and get to know you better if they aren't familiar with your home town.

8. Have a bonfire, stargaze and hammock

This idea makes for a great group date! Travel to the mountains or your own backyard to build a fire, make s'mores and enjoy stargazing together. Take a hammock with you and set it up between two trees for a relaxing, beautiful night. It'll be nothing short of lovely.

9. Take a yoga class

Couples who work out together, stay together, right? Taking a yoga class together will add zest to your relationship. It also gives you an excuse to take a trip to the beach to meditate near the ocean or do yoga on top of the world in the mountains. Stand-up paddleboard yoga is also an exciting option.

10. Go to a sporting event

Rooting for your favorite team together is a great way to bond. You'll let your competitive sides show and have fun cheering for your teams. You can also make or purchase fan gear together so you're fully prepared to represent your team!

11. Go house hunting

This might seem like a date only for married or engaged couples, but it's entertaining for everyone. You can drive around looking at dream houses or visit model homes to walk through.

12. Leave your phones at home

This might be an amusing competition for you and your date. You can choose any activity, but challenge each other to not look at your phones for the entire date. The first person to look at their phone loses!

13. Make a date night jar

Making a date jar is perfect for a last-minute date night. Get your creative juices flowing and come up with exciting ideas. Write the ideas on popsicle sticks and put them in a jar. Whenever you two want to go on a date, you'll have an endless supply of spontaneous dates to choose from.

14. Pick a date idea, take selfies and print them at the end

This goes along with No. 1, but it's so much fun. You can do this while touring your city, riding your tandem bike or doing any idea on this list. This is a way to commemorate your date, and you'll be able to look back on all the memories you made together.
