Bobbie Jean Carter, sister of Nick and Aaron Carter, has passed away at the age of 41. Carter was found unresponsive in the bathroom of her Florida home. "On December 23, 2023, Hillsborough County Fire rescue crews arrived at the home located… in Tampa, and they discovered a woman who later was identified as Bobbie Jean Carter," read the statement from the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Department. "She was immediately transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where she was declared dead by hospital medical staff at 8:02 a.m. No narcotics or personal paraphernalia were located in Ms. Carter's room or bathroom. Deputies observed no signs of foul play." Carter was on probation for cocaine possession, but according to her roommate, "she had not used any narcotics since her release from prison." Sources close to the family say that they believe Bobbie Jean passed away after going into cardiac arrest.

Bobbie Jean's mother, Jane Carter shared a statement saying, "I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time." She is referring to Bobbie Jean's death along with Aaron Carter who passed away in November 2022 and Leslie Carter who passed in January 2012. Jane continued, "When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement, but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private. "However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."

Bobbie Jean lived a mostly private life before her death, living in Florida with her daughter. According to TMZ, she worked as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for Aaron's tours during the early 2000's.
