The Big Brother family — and fans across the country — are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Mickey Lee, who died on Christmas Day at just 35 years old after suffering a series of cardiac arrests. Her sudden passing has left loved ones grieving and remembering a woman whose warmth, faith, and authenticity touched everyone she met.

Lee, who appeared on Season 27 of Big Brother, was hospitalized earlier in the week after experiencing complications related to the flu. Her family later confirmed that she suffered multiple cardiac arrests before passing away on Dec. 25.

“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” her loved ones shared in a statement on Instagram. “Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.”

They added, “She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”

The outpouring of love has been overwhelming. Friends, fans, and fellow Big Brother alumni flooded social media with tributes, reflecting on Mickey’s kindness, laughter, and unmistakable light.

Julie Chen Moonves, longtime host of Big Brother, shared a deeply personal message, recalling a recent interview she had with Mickey. “Two months ago I interviewed Mickey Lee on God 101,” she wrote. “That’s when she revealed to me that she was born with a hole in her heart, and as an adult she survived an ATV accident that should have killed her, but God kept her alive. Last night God brought her home.”

She added, “I will see you again on the other side in eternity. I pray the good Lord comforts and heals your family and loved ones as we grieve your passing.”

Former houseguest Rachel Reilly also reflected on their bond. “We walked into the Big Brother house as strangers and walked out bonded for life,” she shared. “I wish I could still thank her for the memories, the laughter, and the moments only we will ever understand.”

Other cast members echoed similar sentiments, remembering Mickey as warm, genuine, and full of life. “She shared so much light with us and was such an amazing soul,” wrote Bayleigh Pelham. “This one hurts.”

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and later living in Atlanta, Mickey was known not only for her time on reality television but also for her creativity and compassion. A GoFundMe created during her hospitalization noted that she was a “vibrant, strategic, and unforgettable personality” who brought joy wherever she went. The fundraiser raised more than $32,000 to help cover medical expenses.

In their final message, her family expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received during this unimaginable time. “Your kindness has been felt and is sincerely appreciated,” they wrote, while also requesting privacy as they grieve.

Though her life was tragically short, those who knew and loved Mickey Lee say her impact will last far beyond her years. As her family beautifully shared, “Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten.”
