According to a new study from U.S. News & World, the Midwest may have some of the best cities to settle down in. The study took many factors into consideration such as measuring how satisfied residents are with their daily lives by metro area, along with things such as crime, quality and availability of health care, quality of education and average commute time. To top the list, the place must earn high scores in the categories such as desirability and quality of life.

Coming in first place of the best cities to live for quality of life is Ann Arbor, Michigan. Many people describe the city to be quite versatile. It is rural and urban, sporty and smart, outdoorsy and high-tech, and counterculture and high society. Ann Arbor is best known as the hometown of the University of Michigan, and it is everything one would dream of for a Midwestern college town. Ann Arbor averaged an overall score of 6.7 and scored a 7.9 in quality of life, making it the best place to settle down.

Coming close in second place is Boulder, Colorado with an overall score of 6.8 and scored a 7.7 in quality of life. Snug against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder has fantastic views. Boulder does not lack opportunities for residents to enjoy nature at it's fullest with their beautiful mountains and forests. The city attracts many different types of people such as young professionals, families, academics, hikers and many more, making it a wonderful place to live for a great quality of life.

Madison, Wisconsin comes in third place with an overall score of 6.7 and scored a 7.4 in quality of life, making this a great option to settle down. Madison gives a warm, down-to-earth feel as the capital of America's Dairyland. With many high-tech businesses and acclaimed academic institutions, it is a great option for professionals. Over the past decade as the city has grown, Madison has welcomed many new residents who are ready for a new beginning in in the special little city.
