On May 16, 1986, David Young walked with his wife, Doris, into a small elementary school armed with guns and a bomb. They took hostage 136 students alongside 18 adults. After a two-and-half hour standoff, the bomb detonated.

The only casualties were David and his wife. While 76 others suffered severe injuries, the bomb killed no one else. Many attribute this miracle to the aid of heavenly angels who led them to protection.

Katie Walker Payne was 7 years old at the time of the bombing. As she was coloring in the classroom during the standoff, she remembers looking up to see a person dressed in all white. This person told Katie that she loved her and that she needed to listen to another boy named Travis.

"I didn't know who she was, but I knew she loved me," she said. "I didn't know what was going to happen, but I knew that I was loved. It was comforting to know that."

Seconds later, a fellow student named Travis came and led her to the window. This helped protect Katie from the blast of the bomb.

After the miraculous event, Katie discovered that the heavenly visitor was her grandmother who came to protect her during the bombing.

Katie's story and the story of so many others is part of the motion picture, The Cokeville Miracle. Now available on DVD and Blu-ray. Click here to order your copy today.
