You know your man loves you. He adores you when you're defeated after a terrible day, when you are all dolled up or when you caught that flu that's going around. Knowing there is someone who loves you that much is an incredible feeling, but it's just one piece of the pie. The truth is, no matter how much someone loves you that love can't replace how you feel about yourself.

Mr. Wonderful thinks the world of you, but it doesn't really matter if you can't love yourself in these 4 ways:

1. Feeling beautiful

Hearing your darling say how pretty you are is combatted with thoughts of doubt and pieced together self-confidence if you don't believe him. You may not be the biggest fan of every wrinkle or fold, but knowing for yourself that your speckled freckles and quirky giggle are beautiful is something no one on this earth can give you. His words about how much he adores your pretty face will mean so much more if you know them for yourself to be true too.

2. Feeling confident

Knowing that your man is your support system is liberating, but not as freeing as knowing for yourself that you're making a good decision. Having someone support you in your goals is helpful if you think you really can achieve them. His support does no good if you don't have the confidence to carry them out. Mr. Wonderful can tell you that he believes in you all day long, but words alone can't convince you to be confident in yourself; that is something you need to figure out for yourself.

3. Feeling independent

Even in marriage, there are times when you won't be with your spouse. Needing someone to be there physically with you leaves feelings that you can't do anything by yourself. Obviously, marriage means you need to make joint decisions, but don't lose your sense of independence in that relationship.

Being independent will allow you to do things for yourself to make you a better wife. Knowing you are independent of your spouse will create a relationship that is much more dynamic and interesting than if you were a watered down version of yourself. You will also be able to be there for your husband when he needs you to be the independent one.

4. Feeling loved

If you learn to love yourself, it won't matter if your beau slipped out the door without saying those three words. Clichés of how to love yourself sound silly, but there's a level of truth to them that shouldn't be ignored. It is too much responsibility for one person in your life to make sure you are feeling loved every minute of every day. Finding ways to love yourself will also help you love your husband more.

Mr. Wonderful can think the world of you but it truly doesn't mean a thing unless you can love yourself too. Luckily, you have your man there to help you point out why exactly he thinks you are the confident, independent, beautiful and lovely woman he adores.
