We've all heard and read lists of what men look for in a future wife. Some want companionship, some want a person they can trust and rely on, some want to raise a family and others just want love. The truth is no matter how hard they look, those men aren't going to find the women of their dreams until both partners make some self-improvements.

Here's how to become a woman someone would love to marry:

1. Reflect and make a change

Take a good look at yourself. What do you love about yourself? What do not love quite so much? Is there anything you wish you could change? If you answered yes to that last question and it's something you can change, do it!

Everyone deserves to love themselves and be the best version of themselves they can possibly be. If you don't like the direction your life is going, make changes and improvements to be the person you want to be - it's easy to fall in love with someone who loves their life.

2. Know exactly what you're looking for

A good way to know what you want in a relationship is to ask yourself why you want one in the first place. Are you dating to have fun, looking for a summer fling or are you ready to get married and start a family?

There's no wrong answer, but knowing where you stand will help you know what type of man you want to be with. It'll also help any potential boyfriends know exactly what you're looking for in a relationship.

Men love a woman who knows what she wants in life.

3. Evaluate and improve your health

Health doesn't just mean physical health (that said, if you're feeling physically unhealthy and want to make a change, go for it). But this tiny word also includes mental and emotional health as well.

Work hard to improve every aspect of your health. If that includes meditating and doing yoga, find time to start a class or watch a YouTube video that walks you through a session. If your idea of better health includes attending counseling or taking medication for a mental health issue, there's nothing wrong with that! You know exactly what your body and mind need, so do what you know will improve your health.

Remember, nobody's perfect. You're going to slip up and fail some days, but that's OK. Just know that you're doing great as long as you're trying.

4. Be the type of person you would want to marry

This might be a little difficult at first, but it's so important. First, recognize all your traits, quirks, habits and your weaknesses. Are they things you would love, or would they drive you crazy to live with? The right person will love you for everything you are, but striving to be your best self is the way to be happier (and to catch a stellar partner).

When you're consistently improving, your partner will see that and want to make changes too.

5. Fall in love with yourself

I can't stress enough how important it is to love yourself. People notice confidence and self-love, especially when looking for a life long partner.

However, loving yourself is a lot easier said than done. Some of the most awesome people I know have self-confidence problems and self-hate, and it's heartbreaking. While it is difficult to love yourself, being around people who remind you how great you are and focusing on the things you do well can help you nurture a positive relationship with yourself.

Whether you're not ready for a relationship yet or are coming around to the idea of finding your one true love, remember this: You are awesome. You are important. And you are worth loving. Once you realize these things, you'll be well on your way to becoming the woman of some lucky man's dreams.
