Finally finding the man you are going to spend the rest of your life with is a funny thing.

While dating, your "traits of my future husband" list is always in the back of your mind. (You know you had/have one.)

But then you find him. And magically over time, all those things that seemed so necessary on that list — tall, romantic movie lover, perfect teeth, etc. — seem to fade away.

Even his quirks have become some of your favorite things about him.

Here are nine things that just don't seem to matter anymore when you've found the man you want to spend the rest of your life with:

1. Your own insecurities

Do you remember ever being in a relationship where you constantly felt insecure about yourself? The way you dressed, spoke, looked, laughed?

A guy who loves you will never make you feel this way.

When you've found your man, you will find yourself not caring about all those things that make you insecure, because he makes you feel so secure. You know that he loves you just the way you are and doesn't want to change you one bit.

2. Things that would otherwise annoy you

Remember those pet peeves you've always had?

The funny thing is that if the man you love happens to have one of them, it really doesn't seem so bad anymore. In fact, you might find it completely adorable and something you adore about him.

3. Any worries you have about the future

Worries about the future seem a lot less overwhelming and scary because you know you'll have him by your side to face what lies ahead.

4. His physical appearance

Attraction is a very important part of a lasting relationship; but when you find the man you want to be with forever, you'll find that the word "attraction" can actually mean a lot of different things.

Yes, you probably find him physically attractive; but also some of the most attractive qualities about him have absolutely nothing to do with his looks.

You love how kind and considerate he is, his laugh and his sense of humor. You now know that his physical appearance is nothing compared to the other millions of qualities he has that are so much more lovable.

5. How privacy isn't super important anymore

You have all of a sudden realized that you want to share EVERYTHING with him.

Even if you've been a pretty private person your entire life, you will find yourself wanting to share your life with him.

You will have no problem sharing your social media passwords, phone or journal with this man, because you trust him and know that he trusts you.

6. How gross he can be

Yes, boys can sometimes be really gross.

And, though it isn't happening all the time, even when he occasionally picks his nose or passes gas, you still love him all the same.

7. What he wants to do with his life

Maybe you had dreams of marrying a doctor, a successful entrepreneur or a world-renowned artist.

But, just like you, he has dreams of what he wants to be.

And sometimes those dreams aren't what you expected; but once again, you will find yourself not caring so much.

Because you love him, you will find yourself supporting whatever aspirations he has, and loving him for having them.

8. What others think

The best part of finding the man you want to spend the rest of your life with is knowing how much you love him and your relationship, and not caring what the world has to say about it.

So he's not Brad Pitt. Who cares? You would choose your man over him every single time.

9. Worrying about "types"

You hear and read about it everywhere — "Is he your type?"

I'm sure until now you even thought you had a type.

But then you met him, and realized he was so much better than any "type" you could imagine.

Finding the man you want to spend forever with is such a great feeling; one that comes with letting go of all your pre-conceived notions about that "perfect" man you were going to end up with — because this real-life man you now have is so much better than any one you could have conjured up.
