Taylor Swift is reportedly taking a break from her friendship with Blake Lively due to being pulled into the legal battle between Lively and Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director from It Ends With Us.

The pop superstar “is taking a break from their friendship right now,” a source told Page Six. “Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn.”

According to the insider, the 35-year-old Grammy winner is distancing herself from both Lively, 37, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48. "Taylor doesn't want any involvement in this drama," the source said. "She has always been a loyal friend to Blake and doesn't appreciate being caught up in this mess."

Swift and Lively have been friends since 2015 after Lively posted a picture from a L’Oreal campaign that referenced Swift’s "Bad Blood" music video. This led to them spending more time together.

While representatives for Swift, Lively, and Reynolds have yet to comment, previously, it was reported that Swift feels used by Lively amid the legal issues.

The insider explained, “Taylor doesn’t appreciate being referred to as one of Blake’s dragons,” after Lively’s alleged texts were revealed in the countersuit filed by Baldoni, 41.

Though the texts don’t clarify who Lively's defenders are, many speculate that she was talking about Reynolds and Swift.

The countersuit claims that Baldoni received messages about a meeting at Lively's New York penthouse, where he alleges that two very influential and wealthy celebrities attempted to convince him to agree to Lively’s changes to a key scene in It Ends With Us.

After this meeting, Baldoni reportedly felt it was necessary to message Lively, saying, "I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor)"

Swift previously showed her support for It Ends with Us by allowing her 2020 song "my tears ricochet" to be part of the soundtrack.

Lively and Swift's friendship goes back several years. Swift mentioned the names of Lively and Reynolds' children in her song "Betty" and is also the godmother to daughters Betty, James and Inez. (The couple also have a fourth child, an infant son, Olin.)
