Given the opportunity, you have 10 minutes to win a guy over- what do you do? What can you possibly wear, do or say that could win him over? There is much more than you think. While you can't judge a person based on his or her first impression- first impressions do matter. Making a good first impression is important if you want anything more than 10 minutes with a guy you might be into. Here's what to do:

1. Wear your favorite date night outfit

You know exactly which outfit is your favorite, so wear it. If you know you look super pretty in it, why wouldn't you? Of course, it's fun to wear a brand new date night outfit, but why not wear something that makes you comfortable and you know you look drop-dead gorgeous in?

When you look good and feel comfortable in the clothes you're wearing, you'll be much more relaxed on the date. Plus you'll be focused on your date and not whether your skirt is riding up, or if the shirt makes you look ugly. What you're wearing really makes or breaks first impressions, so go with something you know works if you've only got 10 minutes.

2. Think outside the box

Don't start with the boring, same old getting-to-know-you questions. Having to ask and answer what your job is, where you went to school and majored in over and over again sure makes you an expert at answering those questions, but sick and tired of answering them.

If you really want to win him over, think outside the box and ask better questions, including:

  • What's the coolest place you've ever been?

  • What's the best thing that's ever happened to you?

  • If you were to die tomorrow what would you do today?

  • If you were stranded on a desert island and could take one thing with you, what would it be?

  • What is your most embarrassing moment?

Any one of these questions are great conversation starters and breaks away from the traditional questions of finding out the facts about each other. These questions will allow each of you to open and up and be more personable. That's the sort of first impression you want.

3. Don't be afraid to flirt

Whether you've got 10 minutes or an hour to win him over, chances are if you're really into him and want to make an impression, you've got to flirt. Don't be afraid to reach out and touch his hand or shoulder and show that you're interested. Be flirty in your behavior and mannerisms. Most importantly, don't be afraid to say something flirty- because he'll most likely flirt right back with you!

4. Compliment him

If he looks nice, tell him. If he smells good, tell him. It's okay to compliment a guy and tell him he looks good. Sometimes women think that only men are allowed to compliment women on dates, but it goes both ways. They appreciate any compliment from a woman. We all appreciate compliments, so why not give them more? Even if you don't win him over, it will make him happy and feel appreciated for what he's doing.

5. Be genuine

I'm sure you hear over and over again that you should just be yourself on a date, but it's true! If a guy can't love you for who you are, then he just isn't worth it! Best of all, if you really want to win him over, just be yourself. Sometimes it's easy to put on a face for first impressions, but that isn't really who you are.

If you've only got 10 minutes to win him over, just be yourself. Be fun, be kind and be genuine. If he is any sort of gentleman, he will do the same to you. And who knows, those 10 minutes could turn into much more!
