We all have been there before. That one pesky pimple you can feel growing on your face is not going to be pretty. Especially the night before a special occasion or an exciting event, you'd do just about anything to get rid of it.

I've used everything from medications to wax to figure out a way to lose these uninvited guests. Lucky for you, these two DIY formulas have served me well in the past. I named each remedy myself and they couldn't be simpler! Apply at night and wake up to clear skin:

The G.G.G

(Gone. Good. Goodbye.) What you need:

Step 1:

Take one ice cube and wrap it in a washcloth. Use a soft cloth that will not irritate your skin. Apply on the surface of the pimple for a several seconds, giving your skin a break when it gets too cold. Repeat this three times. Do not apply the ice directly to your face; the extreme cold will irritate the skin too much.

Step 2:

Next, dip a cotton swab into the Caladryl. Create a thick layer on the surface of the pimple. Let that dry completely.

Step 3:

After the Caladryl lotion dries, take a pea-sized amount of Neosporin and apply it to the surface of the Caladryl.

Step 4:

Sleep it off! Though it's difficult when you are sleeping, try not to rub the mixture off during the night.

Step 5:

Wash your face like normal in the morning and enjoy a blemish free look.

I've been using this mixture for almost two years and it has never steered me wrong. Repeating this process will eventually eliminate the pimple completely, but even one use will lighten the color and reduce the size. It can dry out your skin, so I always use a good moisturizer after using this treatment.

The Zapper

What you need:

Step 1:

Cut a clove of fresh garlic in half; the acid in garlic penetrate the pimple. You could also use a slice of lemon. However, I've found that garlic doesn't irritate my skin like lemon juice does. Apply the cut side of the garlic to the pimple for five minutes.

Step 2:

Next, grab the toothpaste and apply a generous amount where you had the garlic. Use a brand that has a white paste instead of a clear gel. Now, let the toothpaste dry on your skin. The paste will most likely make your skin tingle and feel cool until it is completely dried.

Step 3:

Take an Advil liquid capsule and punch a hole. Squeeze out the gel inside onto the end of a cotton swab. Apply the medicine on top of the toothpaste.

Step 4:

Now it's time for bed. Some of the toothpaste wil wipe off in your sleep but that's okay.

Step 5:

Rinse your face in the morning like normal, making sure you remove all the toothpaste.

This method is harsher than the previous method. While it does remove the pimple faster, it does dry out my skin more severely. I usually mix a little coconut oil into my moisturizer to use the next morning to keep my skin hydrated. The image below is me, completely makeup free. I realized I've never had clearer skin then I do now after using these treatments.

These DIY remedies are sure to help get rid of a pimple in a flash but they can be hard on your skin if they are used too frequently. However, keep these recipes handy because they do work!
