Tiger Woods is taking his preparations for the Masters Tournament very seriously this year. A source told the New York Post that Woods is taking drastic measures this year to ensure that he is ready to play. “He’s focused,” says a friend of the 48-year-old golfer. “He’s working really hard in the gym. He’s eating right. He’s even eliminated sex. He does that now when he’s preparing: no sex until the tournament is over. He doesn’t want anything to take away his focus.”

Woods, who is currently single, ended his six-year relationship with Erica Herman, in 2023 after she took him to court, suing him for $30 million  in an attempt to get out of a non-disclosure agreement she had signed, but dropped the case in November last year. Woods previously dated ski racer Lindsey Vonn. The source close to Woods said, “there’s no one to speak of” when asked if the golfer was dating anyone at the moment. In 2009, Woods went through a rough patch in his career and personal life. The same year that his son Charlie was born, news broke that Woods had several affairs, including a full-fledged relationship with another woman. His wife at the time, Elin Nordegren, confronted Woods on Thanksgiving in November 2009. The next day, Woods was involved in a car accident resulting in many injuries. Within months, Woods lost many of his sponsors and his gold game began to suffer due to his injuries and his loss of focus. In 2010, Noredegren filed for divorce and received $100 million in settlement. "He hates anything to do with the scandal," a source told People. "It brings back such painful memories of a really embarrassing, awful, harrowing time in his life. There are no good times he can remember from 2009 and 2010. None. He lost it all, publicly, and had to rebuild."

Woods rebuilt his career and in 2019, he won the Masters Tournament. Woods has long said that the Masters is his favorite tournament to compete in. “I’ve always loved this golf course, and I love playing this event,” Woods told reporters during his second round in 2023. “Obviously, I’ve missed a couple with some injuries, but I’ve always wanted to play here. I love it.”

The Masters will take place in Augusta, Georgia from April 11-14th.
