When a couple gets engaged, the man typically creates a romantic situation for his soon-to-be fiance and proposes to her. Somewhere between the tears and "I love you's," she manages to say "yes" and the couple starts their happily ever after.

However, Grant Tribbett had something different in mind for his proposal. Instead of just proposing to his girlfriend, Cassandra Reschar, he decided he wanted to propose to her daughter, Adrianna, as well.

The love story

Tribbett and Reschar told their story on How He Asked by The Knot. They originally met through Facebook and spent a lot of time messaging at the beginning of their relationship because they lived so far away from each other. Reschar, being a single mom, found it hard to drive the long distances to meet up, so their first contact had to be through messaging and phone calls.

She said, "We spent weeks messaging back and forth, which led up to our first four-hour phone call. The four-hour long call led to our 36 hour FIRST date!" She said during those 36 hours while they were stuck in an ice storm, their happily ever after began. Now, they're more in love than ever.

Meant to be

The sweet couple knew early on in the relationship they wanted to be together forever. Their relationship was progressing quickly, and Reschar said, "I could only tell our relationship was getting closer and closer to the next step."

One day, Tribbett had Reschar and her daughter get all dressed up and they went to brunch. Afterwards, they went on a mile-long walk through a nature reserve, even though Reschar was wearing high heels.

His double proposal

As they came to a beautiful bridge in the woods, Reschar knew something was up. Sure enough, he got down on one knee and proposed while her friend and photographer captured the whole thing.

Tribbett, however, had one more surprise up his sleeve. After Reschar said "yes," he got down on his knee again. This time, he proposed to Arianna.

He said, "Adrianna, can I be your daddy, to promise to love and protect you for the rest of your life?"

It was an emotional moment for the family as Arianna replied "Thank you!" and "YES! I finally get a daddy, mommy, I finally get a daddy!" He then presented her with a heart shaped necklace with her favorite colors.

Happily ever after

According to Today, Reschar said, "His proposal to Adrianna meant the absolute world to me. In my opinion, it's special to find the man whom your soul loves, but to also find a man who loves your child unconditionally was a dream I never thought would come true."

The little family now has their happy ending, and the couple is planning to get married in December.
