Do you ever meet a really confident person and think to yourself, how are they this self-assured? Becoming confident may seem pretty impossible to you - but it's really not.

Not too long ago, I was a mess when it came to being confident and secure with who I am. Honestly, it's still something I struggle with from time to time. Some days are worse than others. But on my journey towards self-improvement, I've noticed that I'm becoming more and more confident with who I am.

In order to improve your self-confidence, watch out for these 7 things truly confident people don't do. And try to remind yourself of the other 7 things truly confident people dodo.

Confident people don't ...

1. They don't pay attention to what people think

Confident people don't get caught up worrying what other people think of them. They don't try to impress people with their money, knowledge, accomplishments, etc. They know that the people who matter will accept them for who they are, and they know that the people who don't like them aren't worth the stress.

2. They don't play the comparison game

Confident people don't look at things in life as a competition. They don't compare themselves to other people because they know that there's no point in it. The only person they compare themselves to is the person that they were yesterday.

3. They don't avoid their fears

Confident people understand that if doing a certain thing scares them, that's probably the reason they should do that thing. They know that stepping out of our comfort zone is one thing that can help them reach success.

4. They don't care about being wrong

Confident people aren't afraid of being wrong. If they're wrong, they accept it and move on. They care more about whatis right, rather than if theyare right or not. And if they happen to be wrong, they look at it as a chance to learn something.

5. They don't let obstacles get in their way

Confident people may fall sometimes, but they always brush it off and get back up again. They accept failure because they know it's a part of life and they can always learn something from it. They look at obstacles as a chance to improve themselves rather than a sign to quit.

6. They don't pretend to be someone they're not

Confident people are comfortable and accepting of who they are. They know that they can achieve great things by being authentic. Therefore, they don't pretend to be someone who they're not in order to gain acceptance from other people.

7. They don't make up excuses

Confident people realize that they're in control of their lives. They own their own thoughts and actions. If they do something wrong, they don't make excuses. They just find ways to keep improving until they get things right. They don't blame other people or circumstances for their mistakes.

Confident people do ...

1. They step out of their comfort zone

Confident people realize that if they always wait for the "right time" to do things that make them nervous, then they will never get these things done. They regularly step out of their comfort zone in order to improve themselves and learn something new.

2. They focus on what they want

Confident people keep a positive mindset. Instead of being upset about what they don't have or what they're lacking, they focus on what they want and what they can do to make it happen. When they're working toward their goals or what they want, they expect good things to happen - and good things often do happen.

3. They act humble and not arrogant

Confident people don't endlessly talk about their success and their achievements. They do what they do because they are passionate about it, not because they want to impress others. Therefore, they don't feel a need to brag about what they accomplish.

4. They get their happiness from within

Confident people, as I said before, are truly comfortable with who they are. They get their sense of satisfaction with themselves from withinthemselves. They know that no matter what anyone else says, they are determined to be happy with themselves.

5. They root for (not against) other people

Confident people understand that just because other people succeed greatly, it doesn't take anything away from what they achieve. They don't need to criticize others in order to feel better about themselves. They are happy to see what amazing things other people can accomplish, and therefore they celebrate what others do and cheer them on.

6. They are secure in their views and opinions

Confident people are secure enough in their views and opinions that they can keep an open mind. They understand that other people may not agree with them and they accept that. They allow other people to hold different beliefs and speak openly about them.

7. They focus on the positives

Confident people focus on the positives more than the negatives. They speak positively about their lives and the lives of the people closest to them. They train themselves to move away from negative thinking. That's actually what helps them become so confident.
