The group A Plus placed a large chalkboard on a sidewalk in New York City. On it was one single question, written in large letters: WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST REGRET?

Those who walked by would stop and stare, take pictures or write their confessions in chalk. The colorful chalk sentences began to fill the board, and people began to see something new.

Each writer was someone unique from a different culture, race or religion. But their regrets almost looked the same. Why?

Each regret was something the person had NOT done or words the individual had NEVER said. It was the things people held back that they regretted most.

Many people have commented on the video, revealing their own regrets. Some include "staying inside my comfort zone," "not making something of myself," and "not being a good spouse." Most regrets revolve around careers, families, relationships, parenting or happiness.

Here are 7 of the most common regrets many people have:

I regret not showing my love more often

You may think the people in your life know how you feel, but actions sometimes speak louder than words.

I regret not being a better spouse, parent or child

Are you being the best spouse you can be? Are you a good parent? Do you speak to your own parents enough? Evaluate your relationships, and see what you can do to be a little bit better.

I regret spending so much time at work

Yes, working is one way to show your family you love them because you're supporting them, but is work taking first place in your life?

I regret not taking more risks or expressing my feelings more

Say what you need to say, and be who you want to be!

I regret not enjoying life more and not following my dreams

Is there a hobby or passion you want to explore? What's stopping you from doing it? Make sure to live your life today-don't worry about the future or regret the past. Live today, right now.

I regret not taking better care of myself

Are you eating healthy, getting fresh air and keeping your body in shape? Many people regretted not taking better care of their bodies. Spend a little time on yourself, and you'll feel much better.

I regret not doing more for others

Think of other people and what you could be doing for them. Spend some time volunteering, or simply listen when your friend is having a hard day. Your life is about how you show your love to others, especially your family.

Make this year better than the last, and start doing the things you've always wanted to do. Take your regrets and learn from them. Don't mope around, regretting every action or inaction. Enjoy life today.
